2025 Charitable Giving: Branch Donations

By: Greenville Heritage FCU

MAY – JULY: PENDLETON PLACE

For the months of May, June and July, all branch sales of candy, Attractions Books and cash donations will benefit Pendleton Place to assist with the costs of repairs from Hurricane Helene damage.

Pendleton Place in Greenville County, South Carolina serves youth aged 12-21 who are experiencing homelessness or family housing insecurity. It is the only non-profit in Greenville serving this population. They provide an emergency homeless shelter for youth aged 12-21, a drop-in center that offers basic needs (showers, laundry, food) to youth experiencing homelessness, and a brand-new transitional living program that offers up to 18 months of shelter with structured skill building and case management support for youth up to 21 years old. They also offer two HUD housing programs for youth up to 24 years old, designed to ensure the residents successfully launch into adulthood from foster care.

In the fall of last year, Helene wreaked havoc on the Pendleton Place facilities, with downed trees necessitating new fencing, new mechanisms on two security gates, roof repair, debris removal and mold remediation. Insurance has declined to assist with the cost of these repairs, since Pendleton Place did not have flood insurance.
